Solids, liquids and gases

Exposure to solids, liquids or gases at work may be hazardous, particularly when exposure is longer in duration. Even where a health impairment cannot be demonstrated, the worker's well-being may nevertheless be impaired, for example by unpleasant odour. Machines should be designed such that, if at all possible, no substances posing a risk to health are generated, or that they are at least not allowed to escape from the machine.
