Problems |
During order picking, goods are retrieved selectively from warehouse shelves and placed on order picking trolleys or pallets. Floor storage areas may not be sufficient for all goods, particularly in major retail store chains. Even frequently used goods may therefore have to be placed on the second shelf level. Since work is normally performed under high time pressure, the workers often do not have the time to fetch a ladder or platform. As a result, they may climb onto cases on the lower level, or may handle goods higher up in a stretched posture or on tiptoe (see EN 1005-2). |
