Platform hoist

Problems

During order picking, goods are retrieved selectively from warehouse shelves and placed on order picking trolleys or pallets. Floor storage areas may not be sufficient for all goods, particularly in major retail store chains. Even frequently used goods may therefore have to be placed on the second shelf level. Since work is normally performed under high time pressure, the workers often do not have the time to fetch a ladder or platform. As a result, they may climb onto cases on the lower level, or may handle goods higher up in a stretched posture or on tiptoe (see EN 1005-2).

Solution

The platform hoist on the order picker raises the worker at the driver's platform to a height of 950 mm above floor level. This provides the worker with good access to goods located at a height and at the same time assures stable footing on the hoist platform. The retrieved goods can be placed on the surface above the backrest as the hoist is lowered. All-round fencing is not required, owing to the working height being below 1 m.
